Thwaites is pleased to announce its most significant factory investment in its 88-year history.

Completed on budget and on time over a 71 week build programme, the 4,000 sqm facility is now in the final stages of commissioning before becoming fully operational in early 2026.

Constructed by regional award-winning contractor Interclass PLC, the project has engaged throughout the build with the local community.

This new facility will enable production capacity to be increased by 15%, ensuring Thwaites continues to match the growing demand and needs of hirers and contractors across the UK, in Europe and around the world.

The new factory has also been fitted with 1,483 roof solar panels, enough capacity to reduce the cost and reliance of fossil fuels, delivering up to 33% of the sites future power needs. The investment also delivers a total of 36 EV charging points for employees and visitors.

Thwaites Managing Director Simon Hill said, “We are delighted to announce the opening of this new facility and welcome the completion of the wider work around the factory. This investment will make the site an even better place to work, improve productivity and drive growth.”

The new building is the significant structural part of a wider improvement plan that has seen:

•             Concreted roadways, that safely direct and manage one way traffic flows.

•             Concrete beds, which give additional operational & loading areas.

•             248 employee refreshed & improved parking spaces.

•             99 new factory and front office parking spaces.

•             60 covered motorcycle and cycle stands.

•             A dedicated conservation area.

•             Landscaped gardens and frontage.

The new facility will house the production and parts teams. A move that will reduce movement between the two supporting functions, improving efficiency and productivity.
