As the Executive Hire Show prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2027, Show Director Chris Moore has given his backing to a key addition to the construction equipment events calendar, UK Plant Expo.
The organisers of UK Plant Expo sat down with Chris to talk about the new event, the value of live demonstrations and how UK Plant Expo can sit alongside the long-established Executive Hire Show.
What makes UK Plant Expo a welcome addition to the industry calendar?
“For me, UK Plant Expo is a very welcome addition to the industry calendar. There is real value in having a dedicated outdoor event where manufacturers can put machines to work, and visitors can see, hear and experience equipment doing what it is designed to do.”
The Executive Hire Show celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2027. How do you see UK Plant Expo sitting alongside EHS?
“I think it complements the Executive Hire Show extremely well. EHS has its own very clear place in the calendar, while UK Plant Expo gives the industry an opportunity to get outside, dig, demonstrate and put operators at the heart of the event.”
Launching a new industry event is a big undertaking. How important is the experience of the team behind it?
“That experience is important. UK Plant Expo is being delivered by a highly experienced team with deep roots in the construction equipment industry. They understand the sector, the people in it and, importantly, what manufacturers, hirers and operators want from a live event.”
Why do you think there is room in the calendar for different types of industry events?
“Good industry events bring people together in different ways, and I’m delighted to support UK Plant Expo as it builds towards its first show in June 2027.”
The Executive Hire Show celebrates its 20th anniversary on 10–11 February 2027 at the CBS Arena, Coventry, marking two decades of bringing the plant and tool hire industry together.
UK Plant Expo takes place on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June 2027 at the Heart of England Events Centre, Warwickshire. Bringing together construction equipment manufacturers, suppliers, hirers and operators for two days of live machinery, working demonstrations and hands-on industry action.
