The ‘Lock ’n’ Load wheel loader challenge – sponsored by Develon – was won by Nick Roberts, plant operator at Deganwy-based PJ Carey.
Friend of the competition and 2022 wheel loader category winner Tom Balls of Belper-based JC Balls & Sons explained what was required for the loading shovel challenge. “Basically, it’s loading a dump truck,” he said. “You need to have good bucket full to get the right capacity to load the dump truck.”
Tom liked the Develon shovel that was used in the competition: “It’s a very nice machine to drive,” he said, “very smooth and very powerful as well.”
