Thwaites have confirmed their machine line-up for Hillhead. On the stand and ahead of its launch this summer, will be the new 9-tonne ROPS+, in addition to the production model of the ROTATOR, the 3-tonne electric Power Swivel and the 6-tonne Power Swivel, Cabbed dumper.
UK Distributor Managers Paul Rodwell & Will Redman will be joined on the stand, by Export Manager Dave Webster, along with General Sales Manager Andy Sabin and Deputy Chairman Ian Brown.
Thwaites have announced that following the successful launch last spring of the 6-tonne ROPS+, the release of the new 9-tonne ROPS+ version.
ROPS+ offers protection to the operator with its wrap around steel frame; pull down roll bar and triple lock motion inhibiter, the machine will start, but not drive, until the operator is Sat on seat – The seat belt is fastened – The overhead bar is locked in place.
Fitted as standard a new telematics system will be free to use for one year. A key feature of this open API telematics system from Matrix IQ will be its ability to not only provide key performance data, but to provide a market leading ‘one-hour Theft recovery guarantee.’
Meaning that via a network of Matrix IQ agents, they will have a representative ‘stood by the machine’ within a 60-minute target of the machine being reported stolen. This team acting as the conduit to find and secure the machine ready for recovery or alert the need for police intervention.
Fitted as standard the new 9-tonne ROPS+ comes with: an inclinometer for safe operation and tipping, forward and reverse cameras for all round visibility, a white noise reverse alarm and a factory fitted on-board Telemetry system.
The telemetry system also fitted as standard, sends (in case of theft) tracking coordinates, together with critical data direct to your business…supporting you to improve security, safety and performance.
The new Thwaites 9-tonne Rops+ is a fully compliant option for contractors and an alternative proposition for hirers to offer a safe system, which protects operators and eases pressure on ROI.
The 9-tonne ROPS+ will be available from all Thwaites distributors from the summer of 2026.
