B&T Plant Hire goes electric in a major deal with Sany.

B&T Plant Hire has made a significant investment in SANY UK’s growing electric machine range, placing an order for eight zero-emission machines comprising three SY19E electric mini excavators, one SY35E electric excavator and four STH625E electric telehandlers.
The latest fleet addition the company says, marks another important step in B&T Plant Hire’s strategy to provide customers with modern, environmentally conscious equipment capable of meeting the evolving demands of construction projects across the UK.
Commenting on the deal, Steve Speed, Sales Manager at SANY UK, said:
“This order is a fantastic endorsement of SANY’s electric machine range and highlights the growing demand for practical zero- emission equipment across the construction sector. B&T Plant Hire has a strong reputation for investing in quality equipment and supporting its customers with innovative solutions. We are delighted to support B&T as they continue to expand their sustainable fleet offering.”
Matt Fox, Asset Operations Manager at B&T Plant Hire, added:
“As customer demand for low and zero-emission equipment continues to increase, investing in electric machinery is an important part of our long-term fleet strategy. These new SANY electric excavators and telehandlers will enable us to support a wider range of projects, particularly within urban environments and sites where noise and emissions are key considerations”.
The order includes three SANY SY19E mini excavators, designed to deliver the performance and versatility expected from a conventional compact excavator while eliminating exhaust emissions and significantly reducing operating noise.
Joining them is the larger SY35E excavator, providing contractors with a powerful and sustainable solution for a wide range of construction and utility applications.
Completing the investment are four SANY STH625E telehandlers, bringing zero-emission material handling capability to B&T’s extensive fleet. The machines will offer customers a practical alternative to diesel-powered equipment, particularly on projects where sustainability targets, noise restrictions or indoor working requirements are becoming increasingly important.
For B&T Plant Hire customers, the expanded electric fleet will provide greater flexibility when tendering for projects where emissions reduction and environmental performance are key evaluation criteria.
The machines will also help support work in city centres, residential developments, enclosed environments and projects operating under strict environmental standards.
