What area are you from?

I’m from Sheringham in Norfolk, but most of my work is in the Norwich area.

What machine and equipment are you using?

I’m currently operating a Volvo EC140. In my entry video I was operating a Takeuchi TB2150 which we had on hire from a local hire company. I operate various machines with Bateman Groundwork’s dependent upon what the job requires.

When did you become interested in operating?

I became interested in operating at a very young age through a family friend; Peter Wordingham, whom owns a plant hire company. I started just pushing bales around horse paddocks in a 3cx. Then progressed with the advice and encouragement from my Father to dig drainage, trenches and footings in the evenings on a family self build project.

Tell us a bit about where you have worked in the past/present. What kind of jobs you have worked on?

I worked on many great schemes and sites from pipelines to house builds. One of my personal favourites would have to be building training facilities at a army training site near to us which my brother went on to train in, before being deployed to Afghanistan.
When you are not operating machinery what other pastimes do you have?

I try to get in as much family time as possible with my two daughters.
