Construction sites need solutions that simply work and reduce costs. For 25 years MB Crusher has been producing robust tools for demolition. Presented at BAUMA, MB Crusher’s product range now offers even more power, precision, and performance.
MB Crusher P380 a Case Study – The partial demolition of a double garage.
The contractor choice was based on the structural conditions of the site and the need for a controlled and cost-efficient demolition process. Meaning this was all about precision instead of impact.
The goal was the selective demolition of one half of the garage without damaging the adjacent structure.
After preparatory steps – removing the garage door, supporting the ceiling, dismantling the roof waterproofing, and cutting a separation joint between the two structures – the actual concrete demolition began.
Using a hydraulic hammer would have posed an increased risk of vibration damage. The MB-P380, on the other hand, enabled controlled demolition with minimal vibration. Thanks to the integrated cutting blades, reinforcing steel could be cut directly during demolition. Concrete and steel were cleanly separated and reduced on-site to a size suitable for crushing.
Cost efficiency through a system solution
Using a hydraulic hammer would have required a larger excavator and an additional grapple, resulting in higher costs and greater logistical effort.
With the MB-P380 from MB Crusher mounted on a Bobcat E55 (5.5 t), the demolition was carried out efficiently using existing machinery. After removal, the material was immediately ready for crushing without further pre-processing. The integrated cutting blades of the MB demolition pulverizes separated reinforcing steel during demolition, ensuring the material was optimally prepared for further processing in the crusher.
Findings:
The MB-P380 demolition grab enables controlled demolition with minimal vibration.
Lower risk compared to hydraulic hammers
No need for a larger excavator
Saves time and costs
High efficiency
Customer conclusion: “The MB-P380 exceeded our expectations. Compared to other brands, we achieve the best results with MB.”
Conclusion:
The use of the MB-P380 demolition grab demonstrates how modern demolition solutions can combine precision, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a single operation. Its ability to perform controlled, low-vibration demolition while simultaneously separating and reducing materials streamlines the entire process and minimizes the need for additional equipment.
With its integrated cutting technology, the MB-P380 proves to be a reliable solution for demanding demolition tasks, delivering consistent performance and optimizing both time and operational costs on site.
