H. E. Services has announced the latest investment as part of its ongoing fleet expansion programme, with the first four SANY STH625E fully electric telehandlers already arriving at the company’s facilities.

Two UK Plant Expo 2027 exhibitors, H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd and SANY UK & Ireland, are making headlines following a major investment of more than £1 million in construction machinery, including a significant order of fully electric telehandlers and excavators.

The order also includes SANY electric excavators, including the 1.9-tonne SY19E and 4.5-tonne SY35E, further strengthening the range of electric machinery available to customers through the company’s nationwide hire network.

The investment reinforces the established relationship between H. E. Services and SANY, with both companies recognising the growing demand for construction equipment capable of operating in environments where reduced emissions and lower noise levels are important considerations.

For UK Plant Expo 2027, where both companies are confirmed exhibitors, the announcement provides a timely example of how manufacturers and major plant hire businesses are responding to changing requirements across the construction sector.

Electric telehandlers join the hire fleet

At the centre of the latest investment is the SANY STH625E, a fully electric telehandler designed to combine compact dimensions with the lifting performance required for a wide range of construction and industrial applications.

The machine offers a maximum lifting capacity of 2,500 kg and a lift height of six metres. With an overall width of 1,850 mm and cab height of 1,920 mm, it is particularly suited to restricted working environments where manoeuvrability is essential.

Its electric operation makes it an option for indoor applications, urban construction projects and sites where reducing exhaust emissions and noise can benefit surrounding communities and site operations.

Depending on operating conditions, the STH625E offers up to eight hours of working time. Operator comfort and safety have also been considered, with heating, air conditioning, an adjustable suspension seat, a 10-inch touchscreen display and an integrated reversing camera.

An integrated energy recovery system is designed to improve operational efficiency, while flexible charging options help support day-to-day use within busy hire fleets.

The electric machinery investment also extends to transportation, with H. E. Services using its Dax FA XD 220 battery-electric lorry to transport one of the new six-metre SANY electric telehandlers.

Investing in the future of plant hire

A spokesperson for H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd said:

“We’re making a significant investment in SANY machinery, with an order worth over £1 million reflecting our confidence in the brand and our commitment to providing customers with a modern, capable and diverse hire fleet.

“Electric machinery is an increasingly important part of that investment. We’re seeing growing interest in equipment that can help customers meet the requirements of projects in built-up residential and commercial areas, where reducing noise and emissions can be particularly beneficial.

“Our latest order includes a substantial number of SANY machines, with the new electric telehandlers sitting alongside electric excavators, including the SY19E, and other equipment. It’s about continuing to give our customers more choice while investing in machinery that meets the demands of today’s construction industry.

“This is part of our ongoing investment strategy, and we intend to continue expanding our electric plant offering, with further investment in fully electric SANY machinery planned for 2027.”

The latest order represents another significant development for H. E. Services, which operates a fleet exceeding 3,500 items of plant through 11 depots across the UK.

The company continues to invest in machinery that reflects the changing needs of contractors, combining established diesel-powered equipment with a growing choice of electric alternatives.

Leigh Harris, Business Development Director at SANY, welcomed the investment and the continuing relationship between the two businesses.

“H. E. Services has been a valued partner of SANY for many years, and this latest investment demonstrates their confidence in both our products and our long-term vision for the future of construction equipment. The introduction of the fully electric STH625E telehandler represents an important step in helping contractors access practical zero-emission solutions without compromising on performance, reliability or productivity.

“As demand for sustainable equipment continues to grow, we’re proud to support H. E. Services in expanding their electric fleet and making this technology available to customers across the UK. This order reinforces the strength of our partnership and highlights the increasing role that electric machinery will play on construction sites in the years ahead.”

The new electric telehandlers are being introduced progressively into the H. E. Services hire fleet, with machines becoming available as they arrive and are prepared for hire.

Both H. E. Services and SANY will be exhibiting at UK Plant Expo 2027, taking place on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June at the Heart of England Events Centre, Warwickshire.

With live working machinery, equipment demonstrations and opportunities to meet the businesses supplying the UK’s construction sector, the event will provide a platform for discussions around equipment investment, emerging technologies and the practical application of electric machinery.
