JCB Price 3CX to Encourage Generation of Entrepreneurs

JCB has taken the bold step of publishing and displaying (at shows and events) in the front window of their 3CX Backhoe, the net price of the machine for all to see.
It is fair to say this is not something that JCB, nor the market tends to do, so why and why now?
We caught up with JCB Backhoe Loader Application & Training Manager, Georgina Williams at the recent Hillhead show to find out more.
Geogina was keen to point out from the get-go, that the price of £55,000 is competitive and her words “it’s a lot of ’machine’ for the price”. Couple this with a finance deal that means over a 5-year flexi lease payments equate to just £208.00 per week.
The intention from JCB is clearly to sell more machines. This package is targeted at the next generation of entrepreneurial owners. Many of whom will already be in the industry, many of whom will have their head turned by this offer.
This initiative clearly is the opportunity for many to own their first ‘new’ machine, a machine that can do the job of multiple machines. A machine, that as it did when the first Backhoe launched in 1953, set many ‘on the road’ to setting up their own business.
With many of today’s thriving contracting and plant hire businesses grateful back then for a Backhoe.
We wish JCB well with this initiative and trust it will drive many of todays entrepreneurs to follow in their forefathers’ footsteps.
