HYUNDAI LAUNCHES HX210L CRAWLER EXCAVATOR

At Hillhead last week Hyundai launched the HX210L excavator to its Next Generation line-up. This 22-tonne machine has been designed and engineered to compliment the high specification HX230. It has been tailored to appeal directly to the UK plant hire market.
The machines main features and benefits are:
• EU Stage V Hyundai DX05 engine consumes 7% less fuel and 30% less AdBlue
• Pilot hydraulic system with virtual bleed off (VBO) boosts efficiency
• Reinforced upper structure with upgraded swing bearing and higher torque
• Premium Next Generation cab with 12.8” full HD touchscreen
The HX210L features a standard 4,200kg counterweight, 10% higher than the A-Series model to maximise stability and lifting capacity. The counterweight has the distinctive ‘Tiger Eye’ rear design, already seen on other Next Generation machines.
The upper structure of the excavator is reinforced, with increased channel height and a revised counterweight mounting design, enhancing structural rigidity. The swing bearing has been upgraded, with a design that delivers increased dynamic thrust and static thrust capacities. Higher swing torque provides improved rotating performance and increased productivity.
Hyundai Power
Powered by the same Hyundai DX05 diesel engine, the 21-tonne machine uses a wastegate turbocharger in place of the larger model’s twin-turbo configuration. This results in a best-in-class 830Nm of torque, a 6% increase on the previous HX210A L. The engine employs an engine-mounted cooling fan clutch, to maximise fuel efficiency.
Proven pilot-controlled hydraulics have been chosen as the optimum solution for the rental business. The system includes virtual bleed-off (VBO), an energy control system that combines an electronically controlled main control valve and a high-performance central processing unit to optimise real-time output flow and eliminate energy losses in the hydraulic system.
Operator Comfort
All Next Generation machines benefit from a new premium cab design, with comfortable seating, improved ventilation, redesigned control levers and enhanced interior lighting. The excavator is equipped with Hyundai’s latest 12.8” full HD touchscreen monitor, providing personalised control of machine functions and easy to read operating data. The advanced climate control system incorporates a Discharge Air Temperature (DAT) sensor and dual solar sensors to optimise internal temperatures in the cab.
The HX210L has 1,000-hour service intervals, boosting uptime for the customer. A revised Urea tank design delivers an 18.8% boost in AdBlue capacity and standard integrated grease feed lines, improve pin lubrication. Side service access improves safety for technicians during upper structure inspection and maintenance.
