Caterpillar Sends Top Three Plant Operators to Las Vegas Final.

Held in mid October at the Caterpillar Malaga Demonstration and Learning Centre, the Global Operator Challenge saw the 20 best operators from Europe, Africa and Middle East compete in the semifinal of the competition.
The 20 best machine operators gathered in Malaga, Spain to demonstrate their mastery of both equipment and technology, after having won their respective national heats.
Alas there was no UK heats this year, which explains the lack of entrants from GB & Ireland.
Only three could emerge victorious, earning the right to advance to the final round of the Caterpillar Global Operator Challenge to be held during CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas in March 2026.
The winner of the European semi-final heat was Gunter Dewit from Belgium representing dealer Bergerat Monnoyeur Belgium. Dewit finished the four events with the lowest points total of 983, which is a combination of time and penalties.
At the same time, both Nicolai Thomsen from Denmark, representing dealer Zeppelin Denmark, completed the challenges with 1048 points, emerging as the first runner up and Sebastian Behr from Germany, representing dealer Zeppelin GmbH with 1101 points emerged in third place.
Best wishes to the three winners and good luck in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
