Renowned construction brand Takeuchi has a few surprises in store for Plantworx including its first five tonne class short tail mode and its first all electric mini digger.

Takeuchi UK has expanded its new 3-Series excavator range with the new TB350R short-tail swing compact excavator, the company’s first five tonne class short tail model.

To be launched in the UK at Plantworx which takes place from 13 – 15 June at the East of England Arena & Events Centre in Peterborough, the new short tail 5-tonne TB350R has a rear swing overhang of only 75 mm and weighs in at 5,095 kg. It will be in the Takeuchi demo-zone at Plantworx, so operators can put it through its paces.

Its maximum dig depth of 3,575 mm, dump height of 3,945 mm and ground reach to 5,925 mm highlight the excellent operating parameters of the new machine. It is powered by a Stage V ready engine with 32.4 kW and a four-pump hydraulic system providing a bucket breakout force of 37.3kN.

Feature rich

“Takeuchi continues to design and build excavators that are feature-rich, delivering a unique combination of performance, durability, operator comfort and serviceability,” says Holly Cooke marketing manager at Takeuchi UK.

A 7” touchscreen colour monitor, integrated air conditioner and radio functions means operators can be assured of the most comfortable working environment for all-day operating.

Service as always is designed to the max. The TB350R has a wide-opening rear engine service door and a right-side cover that opens overhead for access to key daily inspection points.

“When maintenance and service work are fast and easy to perform on a machine, it’s more likely that they’ll be done correctly and at the right intervals,” says Holly

The Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system comes as standard on the TB350R, providing owners and operators with machine health vitals and condition, run time (hours) and machine location, as well as remote diagnostics, scheduled maintenance reminders and customisable alert settings.

Featuring a wide array of state-of-the-art technology and a cabin that welcomes you, Takeuchi says the TB350R has been designed from the ground up to ensure operators’ success and comfort throughout the workday. The short tail swing, 5-ton TB350R is at home in a wide range of applications and delivers power and performance. A high flow primary auxiliary circuit delivers up to 93.2 L/min enabling users to utilise a wide variety of hydraulically driven attachments, and a standard long arm gives greater dig depth, reach, and dump height. Impressive breakout and traction forces enhance the capabilities of the TB350R when working in the most demanding conditions.

TB20e – Taking charge of Takeuchi Time at Plantworx

Visitors to the Takeuchi stand at Plantworx can put its new battery powered TB20e mini excavator to the test, it will be taking charge of Takeuchi Time, a timed operator challenge where visitors can win daily prizes. The competition which is hosted by 2021 UK Plant Operator Winner, Dave Vickers will test machine operators’ precision skills and speed on the newest fully electric Takeuchi.

The TB20e is a fully electric machine, and the first Takeuchi excavator to feature electro-hydraulic controls. Built with the same all steel construction, heavy duty boom and retractable under carriage, matching the performance of its diesel equivalent.

The TB20e is 100% battery powered with zero exhaust emissions. With a full charge the 24.7kWh maintenance free lithium-ion battery provides up to eight hours of operating time at 65% load.

The TB20e features an on-board charger with two options – charge static or whilst operating. An additional off-board FAST charger is available, reducing charge time to two hours.

The TB20e is ideal for applications in noise sensitive areas such as schools or hospitals, operating at 80dB and 15% quieter than a diesel excavator. This environment friendly option offers a more sustainable choice.
