One of the UK’s largest equipment rental providers, Sunbelt Rentals, has purchased a further five Faresin Electric Telehandlers from UK dealer GGR Group.

This purchase comes following an initial investment in 2021, which saw several Electric Telehandlers branded as part of Sunbelt Rentals’ ESG initiative, ‘Our Planet’ which focusses on driving carbon emissions down and creating a greener future for all.

After an initial introduction to their customer base, testing the products in the field and listening to customer feedback, Sunbelt Rentals has responded to the growing demand for the 6.26 Full Electric by adding these latest units to their fleet.

As part of the purchase, the company chose the Farmatics telematics system that allows users to remotely monitor operations, geolocation, consumption and productivity of the machines during use. Three 400v fast chargers were also bought, giving users the opportunity to charge the machines during periods of downtime, such as break times.

Andrew Winlow, Director – Asset Management, Sunbelt Rentals commented: “We have been impressed by what we have seen from the Faresin 6.26 Full Electric so far and customer feedback has been very positive.

“Even with the ongoing supply chain challenges we’re all facing, we’ve found that the partnership between GGR Group and Faresin has made it easy for us to conduct business.

“Faresin continues to innovate at pace and is making products such as the electric telehandler readily available in the marketplace, with further development planned for later in the year. While GGR Group, the importer has made a commitment to stock and were seeing machines arrive monthly, all of this has been key to our partnership success and is allowing us to respond to customer demand.”

Mike Walkley, Project Sales Specialist, GGR Group said “It has been a pleasure to work with Sunbelt Rentals on this sale and listen to the brilliant feedback from their initial purchases last year. It has been great to help support their new green initiative “Our Planet” through supplying these eco-friendly alternatives and I very much look forward to working with them again in the future.”

The Faresin Electric Telehandler is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, which unlike regular lead acid batteries can be opportunity charged without any damage or reduction to the battery life. A fast-charging system allows the batteries to be rapidly topped up at convenient intervals throughout the day, such as during breaks, if desired. A regular 110-volt on-board charger is included when larger power supplies are not available and can be used for an overnight charge.

The standard 300Ah battery will last up to six hours of typical use with a rapid recharge time of 1.5 hours from zero with the external fast charger.

The electric machine provides a range of benefits and notable savings, not only in emission levels, but also maintenance and running costs when compared to traditional internal combustion engine equipment.
