The final of the UK Plant Operator of 2021 will take place on Saturday October 9th at O’Brien Plant Hire, Sand Quarry, Bryants Lane, Heath Reach, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 0AL
The Event is Open to both the Trade and General Public the gates open at 9am see below for more details.
The event will feature the operators who attracted the most votes in each of the online heats held since the spring of 2021. Many thanks to the thousands of you that voted, we trust your favourite has made it through to the final.
Final’s day will be a celebration of the role of Plant Operators, a role that is critical to the success of the industry. So we would love to invite you to come along and join in the fun.
How to Get Involved
The sand quarry setting is, on its own quite spectacular. The final will take place deep in the heart of the site, a place normally out of bounds for visitors.
You can watch the operators put through their paces in several tasks designed to test their skill and dexterity on a range of excavators performing measured exercises such as:
- A time challenge Loading an ADT
- A Skill Touch challenge
- A Technical Test demonstrating machine control systems.
- An Attachment challenge that shows the flexibility of the machine and ability of the operator
The site will be made safe for the day, so visitors are safe and able to enjoy the spectacle of the setting and the competitive nature of the live final.
There will be live commentary, so you will know exactly what is going on and are fully up to speed with the event.
It promises to be a great day out so why not bring the family along, the kids will love it.
How will the Operator of the Year for 2021 be Judged?
The event will be judged independently by four respected and well-regarded judges:
