The manoeuvrability of the JCB Hydradig has made a massive difference for a Scottish skip hire and waste recycling company.

Motherwell-based Newtown Waste Solutions has purchased two new JCB Hydradig wheeled excavator models to work at its waste processing facility – where it recycles more than 95% of all the materials brought in.

Supplied by dealer Scot JCB, the JCB Hydradig, with its tailswing of just 120mm, is able to work and slew in the most confined areas. Four-wheel steer, 2-wheel steer, crab steer and reverse steer options make manoeuvring in the limited space at the Newtown Waste Solutions site safer and easier for operators.

Newtown Waste Solutions Operations Director, Michael Smith said: “We choose JCB for the reliability, the affordability and the aftersales and back-up support from Scot JCB which is second to none. We have a small yard and the manoeuvrability on the Hydradig is fantastic. We use it with a selector grab for processing metal, wood and other segregated waste products and have found it to be a highly efficient tool. The operator feedback is that nothing can touch the JCB Hydradig for power, comfort and performance. It also brings outstanding visibility which is so key in our operation for safety reasons.”

The JCB Hydradig has a lift capacity at max reach over front of the machine is more than 1,400kg and more than 700kg over the side. Low flow 60 l/min and high flow 120 l/min auxiliary hydraulic circuits allow the Hydradig to be fitted with a wide range of attachments. 40kph travel speed allows quick and efficient roading between sites without the need for additional transport.
