Hyundai construction machinery dealer Young Plant Sales, based in Doune Scotland, has recently supplied three 14-tonne HX140 crawler excavators to Grangemouth based, Jarvie Plant Group. The machines went straight out on hire and are working on various civil engineering projects across Scotland.
Jarvie Plant boast an extensive hire fleet
Jarvie Plant has an impressive 1750 machines in its hire fleet ranging from Stihl saws, to dumpers and rollers right up to 22 tonne excavators. In this extensive fleet are 10 Hyundai machines which include Hyundai fork-trucks, a R125LCR-9A, an R210LC-9A and the largest excavator in its fleet – the R220LC-9A. Jarvie Plant estimate that they have invested in the region of £750K in the Hyundai brand. Managing director, David Jarvie said, “The Hyundai machines in our fleet complement our range of dumpers, breakers and associated hire products – where reliability is key.”
Proven reliability and performance
The decision to purchase three HX140’s was based around the proven reliability of the other Hyundai machines in the company’s fleet. Mr Jarvie reported, “The Hyundai machines are extremely reliable and offer excellent performance. The machines are of good build quality and meet the requirements and flexibility we need. They also offer a competitive whole life cost.”
Mr Jarvie added, “The technical specifications and the safety aspects of the HX140 meet the requirements of today’s contractors. The new models also benefit from improved fuel efficiency without power level drops.”
Safety is a priority for Jarvie Plant
Jarvie Plant pride themselves on their commitment to Health & Safety. Safety in the company’s fleet is at the top of their priority list. “We are 100% committed to safety and we are always introducing new and innovative safety systems into our fleet as much as we can.” Said Mr Jarvie.
“The Hyundai All-Around View Monitoring system (AAVM) on the HX140 gives the operators a 360-degree virtual operating view and the detection system senses and warns the operator when objects come within five metres of the machine, which is essential on busy construction sites. It’s also user friendly and is integrated within the machines control monitor.”
Operator feedback
The proof in the pudding is always in the eating! How does the HX140 rate with the operators of the machines? “We have had very good feedback on the machines.” Reported Mr Jarvie. “The comfortable cab and excellent performance make light work of long days! The safety aspects are also a big positive as are the user friendly ergonomic controls and touchscreen monitor.”
Jarvie Plant and Young Plant
Jarvie has been working with dealer Young Plant more than 30-years and it was the need to expand the company’s hire fleet they were introduced to the Hyundai brand. “We were growing the business further and had been working with Young Plant for many years – they had just taken on the Hyundai brand – we trust Young Plant’s recommendations so Hyundai was the natural choice.”
