Wrexham/Cheshire borders based EMY Plant Hire is the latest industry leading plant hire firm to purchase the fully electric, Faresin 6.26 Electric Telehandler.

The purchase was made directly through Faresin’s UK dealer, GGR Group and was formally delivered to EMY Plant Hire last week.

Andrew Dickens, Director at EMY Plant Hire said, “After experiencing the Electric Telehandler first-hand thanks to a dedicated demonstration from GGR, we were so impressed with the machine that an order was placed straight away”.

“We chose the Faresin Electric telehandler as it fits in with our “Going Green” business model and we are investing heavily in electric plant & machinery. We consider the Faresin 6.26 telehandler to be at the forefront of our clients’ needs”. “We are one of the first hire companies in North Wales to add an electric telehandler to the hire fleet and see this as the first of many”.

Emily Roberts, Operations Director at EMY Plant Hire, added “The electric machine provides a range of benefits and quite a few savings, not only in emission levels and reducing the carbon footprint, but also maintenance and running costs when compared to diesel telehandlers”.

“Our Faresin 6.26 is currently out on long term hire assisting with renovation works on one of the UK’s biggest bakeries. Using an electric machine means that production does not have to stop due to emissions, making it more cost effective for companies where diesel/petrol fumes may tarnish a product. In the future we see it providing assistance on similar projects to this or in places where noise pollution may be an issue – like airports or built-up areas”.

Graeme Riley, CEO at GGR Group commented “We are delighted to have worked with Andrew and the team and EMY Plant Hire to introduce the Electric Telehandler to their hire fleet. This purchase says a lot for the UK market and how the demand for Electric Plant is continuing to grow across the plant hire industry”.

“To help meet this continuing and growing demand, we currently have a number of stock machines that are ready for demo, purchase and delivery today. We are also looking at faster turnaround times for custom orders, thanks to a new dedicated Faresin production line in Italy”.

The new Faresin Electric Telehandler is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, which unlike regular lead acid batteries can be opportunity charged without any damage or reduction to the battery life. A fast-charging system allows the batteries to be rapidly topped up at convenient intervals throughout the day, such as during breaks, if desired. A regular 110-volt on-board charger is included when larger power supplies are not available and can be used for an overnight charge.

The standard 300Ah battery will last up to six hours of typical use with a rapid recharge time of 1.5 hours from zero with the external fast charger. The electric machine provides a range of benefits and notable savings, not only in emission levels, but also maintenance and running costs when compared to traditional internal combustion engine equipment.
