Founded by Terry Rickard little over a year ago off the back of well-established Burnham Waste based in Highbridge near Burnham on Sea, Commando Plant & Tool Hire wasted no time in cementing their new venture within the already competitive plant hire industry.

Offering self-drive plant hire to small and medium sized builders and to the South West’s DIY-ers, Commando Plant & Tool Hire called upon Doosan and Mecalac dealers Kellands Plant Sales to satisfy their continued and ever-growing demand for machines.

Now running more than 10 Doosan excavators, 4 Mecalac dumpers and not to mention the Lumag tracked carriers and wacker plates amongst other machines and smaller tools, the firm’s fleet is well established and keeping the South West digging, dumping, building and more.

Previously relatively unknown to Commando Plant & Tool Hires experienced Plant Hire Manager, Darren, the Doosan and Mecalac machines have impressed over and over. “Having run plant hire firms in the past, I was always a one brand man. We invited a number of the industry’s leading brands to come and discuss our requirements for machines, including Doosan dealers Kellands.” He later explained, “We were impressed by the Doosan machines and the package offered by Kellands including the backup and service.” But most importantly of all, “we have had nothing but good feedback from our customers” says Darren.

Kellands Plant Sales are veterans in the plant machinery industry and today have depots in Bridgwater, Camelford and Brentwood allowing them to cover the entire South of England. “We’re ideally set up and located to look after our customers, our in-house workshops, field service engineers and well stocked parts facilities ensure we keep machines serviced and running at their best all year round, but more importantly reducing machine downtime and helping customers to maximise their productivity and profits”, says Managing Director Tim Hill. “It’s been a pleasure working with the team at Commando Plant & Tool Hire and it’s fantastic to see them making waves in the industry, particularly during uncertain times”.

Full steam ahead into 2020, owner Terry and the Commando Plant & Tool Hire team have seen the demand for machines further increase and are soon to take delivery of more new machines including another Doosan DX19 1.9 ton mini digger and another new and ever popular DX10z micro amongst others and with low rate competitive finance deals available across the range of Doosan machines, they’ve never been easier to own!
