With the technological advances in vehicle safety systems and the demands of an increasingly connected world, Brigade Electronics Group Plc has appointed Rachel Hutson as Group IT and Communications Director to support the company’s rapid growth.

Rachel is the company’s first IT Director which shows the requirements for greater digital expertise, not only internally, but also in terms of the development of future innovative products.

Brigade’s portfolio has grown considerably over the past 42 years since the introduction of the reversing alarm in 1976 to include 360° camera monitor systems and remote access digital recording systems with managed services. As technology advances interconnected and integrated services will increasingly be the way forward requiring sound IT infrastructure which Rachel is fully able to support.

Philip Hanson-Abbott, Brigade Group Managing Director, said of Rachel’s appointment: “In this digital environment, and also because of her proven ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ and take a strategic approach, I – with the full support of the other Directors – considered it appropriate to invite Rachel to join the Board as Group IT & Communications Director. I am delighted that she has accepted.”

As the first female Director of Brigade, Rachel will bring a fresh and invigorating perspective to the Board.
