The UK’s first Bobcat Depth Check System aids further development for ShoreTrench.

With 35 years’ experience in the construction and groundworks industry, ShoreTrench founder and CEO, Glenn Molyneux, knows all too well of the problems associated with trench excavations. Such experience led to the development of a revolutionary system that would benefit the safety and productivity of all aspects of trench shoring activity.
ShoreTrench systems are the UK’s first preassembled trench shoring systems, providing an immediate support solution to an excavated trench and removing the risk of collapse. The unique design allows installation and removal to be completed within minutes, saving significant amounts of time when compared to traditional shoring systems, making site operations safer and more efficient.
Another UK first for ShoreTrench and Norwest Plant is the recent investment in the Bobcat Depth Check system. Garry Wheawall of Norwest Plant, official Bobcat dealer for the North West and North Wales, has known ShoreTrench founder Glenn for a number of years. The Bobcat Depth Check System is exclusive to Bobcat excavators and allows the operator to achieve an accurate grade every time without leaving the cab. The operator simply has to set the width and depth of the trench support unit into the Dig Depth system and choose the right width bucket.
It’s a system of 3 sensors, one on the bucket, one on the arm and one on the base of the boom. All 3 sensors read the exact position of the attachment, boom and arm and constantly send and process data to the control panel that shows on the Bobcat Deluxe Display Screen. The processed information gives the operator visual and audible signals to guide them to either sustain or achieve a desired dig depth or grade. The Bobcat Depth Check System is efficient and easy to use, it is installed by the dealer and delivers an accurate dig depth measurement for precision grade control performance. It prevents over-digging – and the associated costs – while also preventing under-digging and the resulting need for manual labour to finalise the depth or grade.
Offering greater precision, the Bobcat Depth Check system improves productivity, efficiency and safety on site and eliminates the need for additional personnel and expensive laser equipment.
