Sterling GP, a well-known UK specialist manufacturer of beavertail plant bodies and step frame trailers based in North Yorkshire has acquired the brand, design rights and some assets of the Hymix concrete mixer range. This is to further support the growth of Sterling, which has already tripled in size over the last 5 years.
Sterling is a fast-developing family owned and run business, well known in the plant and access hire industries for innovation backed by market leading personal service. With almost 40% market share in the UK large beavertail market Sterling have been looking for new products to add to their portfolio for some time. The Hymix concrete mixer is a logical addition to the Sterling group in a connected market.
The new Hymix mixers will be manufactured and installed at Sterling’s existing 5 Acre site in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. Factory floorspace will be increased to create the new production line and the Sterling team will be expanded to cover the sales, administration and engineering departments of the enlarged group. The existing Sterling nationwide support network will provide a far reaching back up and field support. Over the next few years Sterling are pleased to announce this growth will create at least 30 new skilled jobs in the North East.
Founded in 1988, Hymix has been a leading manufacturer of concrete mixers, renowned for mix performance and speed of discharge on site, recent innovations offered the best weight and dimensions for the UK ready mix industry contributing to both safety and environmental improvements in recent years culminating in the ‘Best New Product’ award in the last UK Concrete Show.

The first new mixers will be rolling off the production by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Sterling are expanding their warehouse to offer spare parts to machines in the field.
