Hitachi Construction Machinery UK (HCMUK), a leading name in the construction, quarrying and demolition equipment market, has donated Ј5,000 to Mind, the mental health charity.

Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding around mental health issues.

The donation comes after employees of HCMUK voted for Mind to become their chosen charity of the year. The funds will assist the mental health charity to provide resources for people experiencing mental health problems, such as online support, telephone support, political campaigns, and the training of “Legal Line” advisors.

Dave Roberts, Chief Executive Officer at Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, said:
“Engaging with our employees and giving back to our community is a major part of the work that we carry out and given the unprecedented 18 months we have all faced, the incredible work provided by Mind has been needed more than ever.”

HCMUK are introducing an internal health and wellbeing strategy, aimed at supporting their employees and the training of mental health ambassadors, who will work with key members of staff to promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing throughout HCMUK. A dedicated committee will develop the existing health and wellbeing projects and improve them further to ensure we are doing all we can to support our teams.
