Parkway Plant Sales Celebrates 25 Years Takeuchi Dealership

The team at Parkway Plant Sales in Stockport, Greater Manchester recently celebrated 25 years as a Takeuchi dealer.

Reaching this major milestone is of some significance in the company’s history; Parkway Plant Sales was established in 1999 to sell the new Takeuchi excavators that were starting to arrive in the UK.

As pioneers, the potential…having heard only good reports about machine design and performance was about to be explored.

The new Parkway team stepped into the world of machine sales and never looked back. From the start the Parkway ethos was “to be a machinery dealer that looked after the smaller sized customer – the owner operators/ plant and tool hirers taking their first steps into compact plant.”

With more than 3,800 machines delivered over the past twenty-five years, Parkway’s success now reaches across the Northwest with customers of all sizes, from many sectors.

Parkway recall the early days when innovative customers were willing to try something different, that proved to be so much better. The machines from the get-go were totally reliable, backed by a supportive local team at Takeuchi in Rochdale who were eager to please this new customer base. Parkway seized the opportunity to convert customers who were willing to try something new and the brand was on its way.

Over the years having a leading brand like Takeuchi has really helped expand the Parkway sales business; additional major franchises are now on-board including Belle, Stihl, CNF Mini Tracked Dumper and Vibromax.

During the past 25-years the market has seen many changes, with many new products launched that continue to impress. The product range has grown from 4 or 5 models to now including more than 20 models, covering the 1-tonne to 15-tonne range.

Highlights include Mr Takeuchi breaking the ground, shovel in hand, in 2016 to kick-off Parkway’s groundworks new, purpose-built showroom facility in Bredbury, Stockport.

To celebrate Parkway’s 20th anniversary the team visited Takeuchi in Japan and had a very special one-to-one session with Mr Takeuchi; what an insight with a genuine pioneer of our industry as it was Mr Takeuchi in 1971 who invented the World’s First Compact Tracked Excavator, and the rest as they say is history.

25 years marks a major milestone, Parkway from the start became an important champion for the Takeuchi brand across the North-West and really helped propel sales to record levels. They remain one of Takeuchi UK’s largest dealerships, have won Dealer of the Year a record seven times and have really set the standard for Takeuchi Dealerships nationwide.

Philip Oldham MD Parkway Plant Sales said, “Parkway Plant’s 25-years with Takeuchi has been a great journey. We are happy to have one of best excavator brands on the market and very pleased that we have helped put Takeuchi on the map across the Northwest.”
