Kelsey Plant Hire, based in Horsham in West Sussex in the UK, has purchased five new Bobcat compact excavators as part of expansion plans to meet a growth in demand and increased confidence in the market.
The new Bobcat excavators at Kelsey Plant Hire include the first E85 8 tonne model in the UK, as well as additional new E16, E26 and E45 excavators for the company’s rental fleet, all supplied by Bobcat of London, the Authorised Bobcat dealer for London and the South East.
Expansion to Meet Demand
Nadine Clark, Joint Director of Kelsey Plant Hire, said: “Following an excellent period in the second half of 2013, which has continued in the first part of the year, we have decided to expand our fleet to meet the increased demand.
“The new Bobcat machines add to the existing Bobcat excavators in our fleet, which covers model sizes ranging from 1 to 8 tonne, all of which can be hired out with a full set of buckets and a choice of other attachments.
“We chose the Bobcat brand again, as we have been running Bobcat excavators for more than five years now and they have been successful and popular with our customer base. We also get excellent support from the factory-trained engineers at Bobcat of London, who provide very fast response for machines on site.”

Increased Hydraulic Performance
The new Bobcat E85 compact excavator incorporates an upgraded hydraulic system resulting in higher pressures and flows, generating smoother and greater digging and lifting performances. For example, the bucket digging force has been significantly increased to 61.8 kN, a 13% increase over the previous E80 model.
The E85 excavator is powered by the Yanmar 4TNV98C-VDB8 compliant diesel engine providing 44.3 kW of power at 2100 RPM and meeting Stage IIIB emission requirements through the use of exhaust gas recirculation and diesel particulate filter after-treatment technologies. Complementing the 10% increase in power over the E80 model, the new E85 excavator offers much higher fuel efficiency, which is among the best on the market.
