Kelsey Plant Hire Sees Growth with New Bobcat Excavators

Kelsey Plant Hire, based in Horsham in West Sussex in the UK, has purchased five new Bobcat compact excavators as part of expansion plans to meet a growth in demand and increased confidence in the market.

The new Bobcat excavators at Kelsey Plant Hire include the first E85 8 tonne model in the UK, as well as additional new E16, E26 and E45 excavators for the company’s rental fleet, all supplied by Bobcat of London, the Authorised Bobcat dealer for London and the South East.

“I will definitely be asking for the E85 for use on some of our future projects where its responsiveness, digging power and manoeuvrability will be key assets. I actually have my own small Bobcat X320 compact excavator that is still going strong after 18 years, which must be a testament to the durability and reliability of the Bobcat range.”

Expansion to Meet Demand

Nadine Clark, Joint Director of Kelsey Plant Hire, said: “Following an excellent period in the second half of 2013, which has continued in the first part of the year, we have decided to expand our fleet to meet the increased demand.

“The new Bobcat machines add to the existing Bobcat excavators in our fleet, which covers model sizes ranging from 1 to 8 tonne, all of which can be hired out with a full set of buckets and a choice of other attachments.

“We chose the Bobcat brand again, as we have been running Bobcat excavators for more than five years now and they have been successful and popular with our customer base.  We also get excellent support from the factory-trained engineers at Bobcat of London, who provide very fast response for machines on site.”

Founded in 1994, Kelsey Plant Hire celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, citing a strong focus on long term relationships with rental customers in and around West Sussex, East Sussex and Surrey as the platform for the company’s success.

Nadine Clark added:  “We will continue to offer the same approach that has proved attractive to our customers, based on the core values of value for money, consistently excellent service, reliability, flexibility, integrity, honesty and going the extra mile.”

The company’s confidence in its service is reflected in a new Cashback Guarantee, as part of a reassuring 2-stage guarantee on any rental equipment available to customers.  Under the new Cashback Guarantee, Kelsey will give customers up to £100 cash if they exceed maximum response times as detailed in the company’s cashback terms and conditions.

As part of the development plans at the company, Kelsey is also seeing benefit from investment in the company’s website www.kelseyplanthire.co.uk, providing true compatibility for ease-of-use on mobile phones and tablets, increased rates of search engine selection and better product and contact information on the website.

Increased Hydraulic Performance

The new Bobcat E85 compact excavator incorporates an upgraded hydraulic system resulting in higher pressures and flows, generating smoother and greater digging and lifting performances.  For example, the bucket digging force has been significantly increased to 61.8 kN, a 13% increase over the previous E80 model.

The E85 excavator is powered by the Yanmar 4TNV98C-VDB8 compliant diesel engine providing 44.3 kW of power at 2100 RPM and meeting Stage IIIB emission requirements through the use of exhaust gas recirculation and diesel particulate filter after-treatment technologies.  Complementing the 10% increase in power over the E80 model, the new E85 excavator offers much higher fuel efficiency, which is among the best on the market.

The E85 is part of the comprehensive range of compact excavators from Bobcat for which West Thurrock-based Bobcat of London is the Authorised Dealer for London, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
